Skin assessment — how we approach personalisation at Klinik Amisi

An overview of the doctor-led skin assessment process at Klinik Amisi and why off-the-shelf treatment menus rarely fit a real face.

A common question we hear at Klinik Amisi is, “What treatment should I do?” The honest answer is: it depends, and we’d want to look at your skin first. This article walks through how we approach skin assessment and why we think doctor-led assessment matters.

Why a menu-driven approach falls short

Treatment menus list devices and procedures. They don’t list skin types, conditions, histories, hormonal context, or seasonal factors. The same condition — say, persistent redness — can have very different underlying causes, and the right approach for one person may be wrong for another.

We don’t run a clinic where you walk in and pick a procedure. We run one where you sit down with our doctor first.

What our skin assessment covers

A skin assessment session typically covers:

  • Concerns in your own words — what bothers you, when it started, how it changes
  • Skin type, sensitivity, current routine and what’s working or not
  • Past treatments — including products, procedures, and medications
  • Hormonal context where relevant
  • Sun exposure and lifestyle factors
  • Examination under appropriate lighting, including any device-assisted analysis we recommend

From this, our doctor proposes options — which may include treatment, may include adjusting your home routine, or may include doing nothing for now and reassessing later.

What “personalisation” actually means

Personalisation gets used loosely. At Klinik Amisi we mean specific things:

  • The choice of modality is matched to your skin’s response, not just the trendiest option
  • Settings and parameters are adjusted on the day, not pre-set across all patients
  • Pacing — how often, how many sessions, how long between — is tailored to how your skin responds
  • Aftercare is specific to what was done, not a generic handout

How we’d like you to start

A skin assessment first, conversation second, plan third. The plan you walk out with will fit your skin and your goals — not a fixed package on a menu.
