RF Arm

Non-invasive radiofrequency skin tightening for the upper arms — designed to support firmness on loose or crepey skin over a structured course.

What it is

RF Arm at Klinik Amisi is a non-invasive radiofrequency treatment focused on supporting firmness on the upper arms. It is delivered using the Thuzzle platform from GMV Medical Innovation (Italy), with handpieces and settings tailored for the body. It sits within our body pillar as one of four related RF body protocols — RF Tummy, RF Thigh, RF Buttock and RF Arm.

The treatment is needle-free and uses controlled radiofrequency energy to gently warm the deeper layers of the skin on the upper arms. It is typically chosen by patients with mild to moderate skin laxity, often after weight loss or with age-related changes, who prefer a non-invasive approach over surgery.

A consultation is required before the first session so our doctor can assess the area, your medical history and any prior procedures, and confirm whether RF Arm is appropriate.

How it works

Radiofrequency energy is delivered through a handpiece that glides over the skin in a warmed gel medium. The energy heats the deeper dermal layers in a controlled way, typically warming tissue to around 40 to 45 degrees Celsius. Existing collagen fibres respond with an immediate contraction, which can produce a subtle tightening sensation. The warming also triggers the skin’s natural repair response, encouraging fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin over the following weeks and months.

The Thuzzle platform allows the clinician to switch between deeper monopolar and more superficial bipolar modes, and to adjust intensity for your skin and comfort. The temperature is monitored throughout the session.

What to expect

Before your treatment

Your first visit begins with a consultation. We will discuss the area you want to address, medical history, any prior body procedures and any implants. Please come with the area clean and free of heavy moisturisers or oils.

During the session

You will sit or lie comfortably with the upper arms exposed. Warmed coupling gel is applied and the handpiece is moved in continuous passes across the area. A typical session takes 30 to 45 minutes. Most patients describe the sensation as a comfortable, deep warmth.

After your treatment

The skin may feel warm and look slightly pink for a short time. Use a gentle moisturiser, and broad-spectrum sun protection if the area is exposed. Avoid very hot showers, sauna and intense exercise for the rest of the day. You can return to most normal activities straight after the session.

Recovery and downtime

RF Arm typically has minimal downtime. Mild warmth or pinkness usually settles within a few hours, and there are no marks or peeling. Improvement in firmness builds gradually over the months following the course as collagen activity continues, and individual results vary. Maintenance sessions are sometimes suggested afterwards.

Who is this for

RF Arm is typically offered to adults with mild to moderate skin laxity on the upper arms who want a non-invasive supportive treatment, often after weight loss or as part of a broader body contouring plan.

You may be a candidate if you have:

  • Mild to moderate skin laxity on the upper arms
  • Loose or crepey skin after weight loss
  • A preference for non-surgical skin firming
  • Realistic expectations — RF supports firmness rather than removing excess skin
  • Willingness to commit to a course
  • No contraindicating implants or medical conditions

Considerations and contraindications

RF Arm is generally not recommended for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, who have a pacemaker, defibrillator, cochlear implant or other implanted electronic medical device, who have a metal implant in the treatment area, or who have active skin infection, open wounds or recent sunburn in the area. Always inform our doctor of any medications, implants, prior surgery and medical history during consultation, so we can confirm whether this treatment is right for you.

Frequently asked questions

What is RF Arm?
RF Arm is a non-invasive treatment that uses controlled radiofrequency energy to gently warm the deeper layers of the upper arm skin. The heat encourages an immediate tightening response in existing collagen and supports gradual collagen and elastin renewal over the following weeks and months.
Will it remove fat from the arms?
RF Arm supports skin firmness; it is not a fat-reduction treatment. If upper arm fat is also a concern, your doctor may discuss combination options with a separate fat-reduction approach.
Can it replace upper arm surgery (brachioplasty)?
No. RF Arm supports firmness for mild to moderate laxity; it does not remove excess skin the way surgery does. Patients with significant skin excess may need surgical management. Your doctor will set realistic expectations during consultation.
Is the treatment painful?
Most patients describe a comfortable warm sensation as the device passes over the skin. The temperature is monitored throughout and adjusted to your tolerance. Topical anaesthetic is generally not required.
How quickly will I see a difference?
Many patients notice a mild tightening sensation soon after a session. More meaningful firmness changes typically build gradually over 3 to 6 months as the skin produces new collagen. Individual results vary.
How many sessions will I need?
A typical course is 5 to 10 sessions, scheduled weekly or fortnightly. Maintenance sessions are usually planned afterwards. Your doctor will recommend a specific plan based on your skin assessment.
Are there any side effects?
Common short-term effects include mild warmth and pinkness. Less common effects are reviewed in consultation. Tell our doctor if you have any metal implants or relevant medical conditions.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on whether you take a single session or a course. Please consult our team for current rates.
