What it is
RF Eye at Klinik Amisi is a non-invasive radiofrequency treatment tailored for the delicate periorbital (eye) area. It is delivered using the Thuzzle platform from GMV Medical Innovation (Italy) with handpieces and settings adjusted specifically for the thinner, more sensitive skin around the eyes. It sits within our skin pillar as one of three related RF protocols — RF Face Lifting (broader face), RF Eye (eye area) and RF V-Shape (jawline and lower face contour).
The treatment is needle-free and uses controlled radiofrequency energy to gently warm the dermal layers of the eye area. It is typically chosen by patients with mild to moderate concerns about crepey skin, fine lines or laxity around the eyes who prefer a non-invasive approach over surgery.
A consultation is required before the first session. Our doctor will review your skin condition, medical history, any prior eye-area procedures and goals before recommending whether RF Eye is appropriate, alone or in combination with other protocols.
How it works
Radiofrequency energy passes through the skin and generates heat in the dermal layers, typically warming tissue to a controlled target temperature. In the eye area specifically, the clinician uses a smaller handpiece and adjusts settings to suit the thinner, more delicate skin, working around the eye while avoiding the eye globe itself.
Two effects follow. First, existing collagen fibres respond to the controlled heat with an immediate contraction, which can produce a subtle tightening sensation soon after the session. Second, the warming triggers the skin’s natural repair response, encouraging fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin over the following weeks and months. The temperature is monitored throughout the session.
What to expect
Before your treatment
Your first visit begins with a consultation. We will discuss your skin concerns, medical history, any prior aesthetic procedures (including eye-area injectables, threads, laser treatments or surgery), current medications and skincare. Avoid strong actives such as retinoids or acid exfoliants for a couple of days before your session, and remove makeup, sunscreen and skincare on arrival so the area can be cleansed.
During the session
The skin is cleansed and a coupling gel is applied to allow the handpiece to glide across the area. The clinician moves the device in slow, repeated passes around the eyes, maintaining the target temperature for the planned duration and avoiding the eye globe itself. RF Eye sessions typically take around 20 to 30 minutes. Most patients describe the sensation as a comfortable, deep warmth.
After your treatment
Skin around the eyes may look slightly pink and feel warm for an hour or two. Most patients can return to normal activities and apply makeup the same day if desired. Avoid very hot showers, saunas and intense exercise for the rest of the day. Daily broad-spectrum SPF 50+ — including in the eye area — is part of the long-term skincare plan.
Recovery and downtime
RF Eye is considered a low-downtime treatment for most patients. Mild warmth and pinkness usually settle within a few hours, and short-term sensitivity can occur for the rest of the day. Avoid heat-based activities (sauna, steam, hot yoga) and intense eye-area massage for 24 to 48 hours. Improvement in firmness builds gradually over the following months as new collagen forms, and individual results vary.
Who is this for
RF Eye is typically offered to adults with mild to moderate concerns around the eye area who are looking for a non-invasive way to support firmness and skin quality, and who are prepared to commit to a structured course and consistent maintenance.
You may be a candidate if you have:
- Crepey skin or fine lines around the eyes
- Mild laxity in the upper or lower eyelid skin
- A preference for non-invasive treatment over eye-area surgery
- Willingness to follow a multi-session plan
- Realistic expectations — RF supports firmness rather than removing excess skin like surgery
- No active eye-area infection or contraindicating medical conditions
Considerations and contraindications
RF Eye is generally not recommended for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, who have an implanted electronic medical device such as a pacemaker, defibrillator or cochlear implant, who have active eye-area infection or open wounds in the treatment area, or who have certain metal implants in or near the treatment zone. Patients with certain ophthalmic conditions, recent ophthalmic procedures, certain autoimmune conditions, very photosensitive skin, or a history of keloid scarring should be assessed individually. Recent eye-area fillers or thread lifts may also affect timing or suitability. Always disclose your full medical and aesthetic history during consultation so our doctor can confirm whether this treatment is right for you.
