What it is
RF Face Lifting at Klinik Amisi is a non-invasive radiofrequency treatment delivered using the Thuzzle platform from GMV Medical Innovation (Italy). It sits within our skin pillar as one of three related RF protocols — RF Face Lifting (broader face), RF Eye (the delicate area around the eyes) and RF V-Shape (jawline and lower face contour) — each using different handpieces and settings tailored to the area being treated.
The treatment is needle-free and uses controlled radiofrequency energy to gently warm the deeper layers of the skin across the broader face. It is typically chosen by patients who want to support firmness over time without committing to surgery, and who are prepared to follow a structured course.
A consultation is required before the first session so our doctor can assess your skin condition, review your medical history and discuss whether RF Face Lifting — alone or in combination with the other RF protocols — is appropriate.
How it works
Radiofrequency energy passes through the skin and generates heat in the deeper dermal and sub-dermal layers, typically warming tissue to around 40 to 45 degrees Celsius. Two effects follow. First, existing collagen fibres respond to the controlled heat with an immediate contraction, which can produce a subtle tightening sensation soon after the session. Second, the warming triggers the skin’s natural repair response, encouraging fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin over the following weeks and months.
The Thuzzle platform allows the clinician to switch between monopolar mode (delivering energy more deeply) and bipolar mode (working more superficially), and to adjust intensity to suit the area and your comfort. The temperature is monitored throughout the session.
What to expect
Before your treatment
Your first visit begins with a consultation. We will discuss your skin concerns, medical history, any prior aesthetic procedures (including injectables, threads or laser treatments), current medications and skincare. Avoid strong actives such as retinoids or acid exfoliants for a couple of days before your session, and remove makeup, sunscreen and skincare on arrival so the area can be cleansed.
During the session
The skin is cleansed and a coupling gel is applied to allow the handpiece to glide across the area. The clinician moves the device in slow, repeated passes, maintaining the target temperature for the planned duration. RF Face Lifting sessions typically take around 45 to 60 minutes. Most patients describe the sensation as a comfortable, deep warmth.
After your treatment
Skin may look slightly pink and feel warm for an hour or two. Most patients can return to normal activities and apply makeup the same day if desired. Avoid very hot showers, saunas and intense exercise for the rest of the day. Daily broad-spectrum SPF 50+ is part of the long-term skincare plan, both during the course and afterwards.
Recovery and downtime
RF Face Lifting is considered a low-downtime treatment for most patients. Mild warmth and pinkness usually settle within a few hours, and short-term sensitivity can occur for the rest of the day. Avoid heat-based activities (sauna, steam, hot yoga) and intense facial massage for 24 to 48 hours. Improvement in firmness builds gradually over the following months as new collagen forms, and individual results vary.
Who is this for
RF Face Lifting is typically offered to adults with mild to moderate skin laxity who are looking for a non-invasive way to support firmness across the broader face, and who are prepared to commit to a structured course and consistent maintenance.
You may be a candidate if you have:
- Mild to moderate skin laxity on the face
- Loss of firmness across the cheeks and broader facial areas
- A preference for non-invasive treatment over surgery
- Willingness to follow a multi-session plan
- Realistic expectations — RF supports firmness rather than producing facelift-level change
- No active skin infection or contraindicating medical conditions
Considerations and contraindications
RF Face Lifting is generally not recommended for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, who have an implanted electronic medical device such as a pacemaker, defibrillator or cochlear implant, who have active skin infection or open wounds in the treatment area, or who have certain metal implants in the treatment zone. Patients with certain autoimmune conditions, recent significant facial procedures, very photosensitive skin, or a history of keloid scarring should be assessed individually. Recent dermal fillers or thread lifts may also affect timing or suitability. Always disclose your full medical and aesthetic history during consultation so our doctor can confirm whether this treatment is right for you.
