Xela Rederm

Hyaluronic acid plus succinic acid skin booster — the 1.1% concentration is tailored for delicate areas such as around the eyes.

What it is

Xela Rederm is an injectable skin booster from Hyalual that combines non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid with succinic acid. It is available in different concentrations to suit different areas and goals; at Klinik Amisi we focus on the 1.1% concentration for delicate areas such as the periorbital (eye) area.

The product is positioned around supporting hydration and overall skin quality through a combination of physiological hyaluronic acid and succinic acid as a biostimulating support. It is delivered into the upper layers of the skin using fine needles.

A consultation is required before the first session. Our doctor will review your skin condition, medical history and goals before recommending whether Xela Rederm 1.1% is appropriate, and how many sessions to plan.

How it works

Xela Rederm 1.1% is placed into the upper layers of the skin using fine needles. Once in place, the hyaluronic acid component supports hydration and surface smoothness in the surrounding skin. The succinic acid component is positioned in the formulation as a biostimulating support that may help signal collagen and elastin activity in the surrounding skin over time.

In the eye area specifically, the 1.1% concentration is intended to provide a hydration and quality support tailored to thinner, more delicate skin. The combined outcome across most patients is a gradual improvement in hydration and the look of fine lines, rather than a sudden change.

What to expect

Before your treatment

Your first visit begins with a consultation. We will discuss your skin concerns, medical history, current skincare, any past injectable treatments and any medications including blood thinners. To reduce the risk of bruising — which can be slightly more visible around the eye area — we may suggest avoiding fish oil, high-dose vitamin E and similar supplements for several days before your session, where it is safe to do so.

During the session

The skin is cleansed and a topical numbing cream is usually applied for around 20 to 30 minutes. The doctor then injects Xela Rederm 1.1% across the planned area using small, controlled placements with fine needles. Sessions typically take 30 to 45 minutes including numbing time. You may feel mild stinging or pressure during the injections.

After your treatment

You may see small bumps at the injection points immediately afterwards — this is expected and usually settles within 24 to 48 hours. Mild redness, swelling or pinpoint bruising is also possible and can be slightly more visible around the eyes. Avoid heavy makeup for the rest of the day, and skip strenuous exercise, saunas and very hot showers for 24 hours. Daily broad-spectrum SPF 50+ is part of the long-term plan.

Recovery and downtime

For most patients, downtime is mild. Surface bumps typically soften within a day or two, while any bruising can take a few days longer to fade. Patients often plan eye-area sessions a few days before social events rather than the day before. Avoid strong actives, exfoliants and facial massage for at least 48 hours, and follow your doctor’s specific aftercare advice. Individual results vary.

Who is this for

Xela Rederm 1.1% is typically considered by adults who want a hydration-led booster tailored for the eye area or other delicate zones, and who are comfortable with injectable treatments and a short course of sessions.

You may be a candidate if you have:

  • A tired, dehydrated look around the eyes
  • Fine lines and dullness in delicate areas
  • An interest in supporting skin quality rather than adding volume
  • Willingness to commit to a short course and follow aftercare
  • Realistic expectations about gradual, cumulative change
  • No active skin infection or contraindicating medical conditions

Considerations and contraindications

Xela Rederm 1.1% is generally not offered to patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, who have active skin infection, open wounds or cold sores in the treatment area, who have a history of severe allergic reactions to any component of the product, or who have certain autoimmune or bleeding conditions that need medical clearance first. Recent ophthalmic procedures, acute illness or planned major events within a few days of the session may also lead our doctor to reschedule. Always disclose your full medical history, medications and supplements during consultation so the right product — or no treatment at all — can be recommended.

Frequently asked questions

What is Xela Rederm?
Xela Rederm is an injectable skin booster from Hyalual that combines non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid with succinic acid. It is available in different concentrations; the 1.1% concentration we focus on is tailored for delicate areas such as around the eyes.
Is Xela Rederm a polynucleotide treatment?
No. Xela Rederm is a hyaluronic acid plus succinic acid product, not a polynucleotide (PDRN) treatment. If you are specifically interested in polynucleotide-based regenerative support, our doctor may discuss Plenhyage as an alternative.
Why is the 1.1% concentration used around the eyes?
The skin around the eyes is thinner and more delicate than other facial areas. The 1.1% concentration is designed to be appropriate for these zones while still delivering hyaluronic acid and succinic acid into the upper layers of the skin.
Is the treatment painful?
Topical numbing cream is applied before the session to keep the experience comfortable. Most patients describe mild stinging or pressure during the injections, with sensation slightly higher in the eye area than on broader facial zones.
How quickly will I see a difference?
Some patients notice a fresher look in the days after a session, while changes in fine lines and skin quality build gradually over the recommended course. Individual results vary.
How many sessions will I need?
A typical plan is 2 to 3 sessions spaced about 4 weeks apart, with periodic maintenance. Your doctor will recommend a specific plan based on your skin assessment.
Are there any side effects?
Common short-term effects include small bumps at injection points, mild redness, swelling or bruising — these can be slightly more noticeable in the eye area. Our doctor will go through the full risk profile during consultation.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on whether you take a single session or a course. Please consult our team for current rates.
